With its recently won award for being the Best Employer 2007
in India as well as Asia, the Aditya Birla Group shared the
glory by throwing a huge bash for those who helped them
achieve the title – their employees.
A
huge night of fun, music and entertainment was planned and
organised at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai where more than 1200
employees of the ABG fraternity were treated to a night out
on the house. |
 |
|
Various activities were organised and the
venues for the same ranged from the Ballroom to Grand Salon
to the Boardroom of the hotel. While one section was
converted into a complete makeover salon and a photo
opportunity corner, the other was converted into a fortune
cellar complete with a wheel of fortune and a tarot reader.
All popular activities, none were more popular than the
performances of Vikram Sathaye, funny as ever, and Infrared
who performed for 3 hours straight without a break! Indeed,
Rodney, the lead singer delved straight into the crowd and
had everyone shake a leg to his tunes. Definitely a red
letter day for the group as the employees let their hair
down and truly enjoyed themselves in celebrating the

Forevermark Diamonds

The entertainment and networking evening hosted by DTC
brought the Mines To Markets Conference 2007 to a sparkling
and successful end.
The Mines To Markets annual conference saw an audience of
the most prestigious and high ranking delegates from all
over the world. In order to cater to the tastes and style of
such a prestigious group, a grand entertainment evening was
organised with a gala dinner afterwards. |

DTC indeed treated
the audience to a unique and mesmerising entertaining
evening that was executed in the most slick and classy of
settings. With the décor representing the ice cold look and
feel of diamonds, little could have deterred the ambient
mood of the evening. Compered by Manasi Scott, the highlight
of the event was the fashion show which showcased some of
the finest designer diamonds in the market but the main
highlight of the evening was the felicitation of Lata
Mangeshkar with the Forever Indian title. All in all, an

Head Over Heels
Tap Dogs, a perfectly synchronised and percussive Australian
tap dancing troupe created a huge roar among audiences
around the country in Phase 1 of Bacardi B Live!
After touring the world, the Tap Dogs finally hit India in
Phase 1 of Bacardi B Live this May! When one thinks of tap
dance, the first thing that comes to mind is an image from
the old movies where a series of actors danced and sang
melodies like “Singin’ In The Rain”.
|
 |
|
Rest assured the Tap
Dogs were definitely different and in a whole new league of
their own. Gym shorts and worn out jeans replaced brown
suits and top hats, as they danced to a percussion created
through drums and triggers installed in the stage. Indeed,
the show was rugged, enthralling and exhilarating as
audiences in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Kolkatta went
berserk with this new age dance form that has redefined
performing arts the world over. Some of the tools used by
them consisted of actual mechanical tools like grinders,
scaffolds stacked up on 6 different levels and foot tapping
sensory devices that created a completely different kind of
music altogether!
High on production and logistics, this performing
masterpiece was executed flawlessly in each city and
received a stunning response from all audiences.

Oakenfold In The House
One of Briton’s most famous trance and house DJ’s, Paul
Oakenfold was recently brought down to India by Elevate,
Delhi! After a great response in Delhi, the Mumbai phase was
arguably one of his best performances worldwide.
The sound and lighting at City Studio was the perfect venue
and the crowds absolutely enthusiastic to
welcome Paul Oakenfold onto the floor. |
|
The entire venue was
decorated to exude a gothic look and feel and the lights and
sound definitely collaborated to create an experience beyond
music. After a highly energetic session of pumping up the
audience’s adrenaline, Paul Oakenfold stopped spinning as
the in-house DJ of Elevate took over and brought the night
to an end with an all time high. Excellently executed, the
event held at City Studio, Kamala Mills was almost perfect!
